PRO-GRAPE COVER,GOOD NEWS FOR GRAPE GROWERS
Suncool Pro Grape cover – A very good news for all Grape growers of India. We at SUNCOOL have developed a 5 layered plastic Pro Grape cover for grapes cultivation with additional properties like Anti dust, IR Thermic, Anti drip UV stabilized etc. During last one year in my frequent visits to Nasik, we discussed with many grape growers and experts regarding grape covers. Everyone was interested and willing us to develop such plastic cover for grapes as the farmers had been in great loss due to untimely rains and hail storm. SUNCOOL took up the challenge and for the first time in India developed a 5 layered film for grapes cover. Proper and optimum light transmission, diffusion, and other required properties will help to achieve better quality and quantity of the produce. The biggest advantage will of course be the protection of crop from such untimely rains and hail storms. Anti sulpher property will take care of the polysheet against use of sulpher dusting. This can really be a revolutionary development for the grape growers. Thanks to all the farmers and our friends who helped us in developing the Pro Grape cover.
TERRACE GREENHOUSES IN KERALA
Terrace greenhouses/polyhouses is a new innovative concept of growing vegetables for home purpose as well as domestic market. This concept of terrace greenhouse cultivation has become very famous in Kerala and many farmers/entrepreneurs having less land or no land have used this concept in Kerala. Kerala SHM is also encouraging this concept. Such small greenhouses on terrace can be constructed anywhere in India for quality vegetable production.

Recently visited an innovative project of mushroom cultivation in greenhouses at village Edakkara Tehsil Nilambur District Mallapuram in Kerala. A group of women farmers is cultivating mushroom under protected cultivation. Such 26 greenhouses are in production and additional 100 are sanctioned. Each greenhouse is of 100 sqm for which a special polyfilm is developed by SUNCOOL. The farmers are earning around Rs. 2 lakh per year from this project. The initial investment per greenhouse is around Rs. 1.5 Lakh out of which 50% subsidy is given by Kerala Horticulture Department. Thus returns of Rs. 2 lacs per year with an investment of Rs. 75,000.00. It’s great economics and the farmers were very happy with the project. After a long time could see the happy faces of the farmers.Technical support is provided by Plantation development Society Kerala.Important is to maintain the required climatic condition in the greenhouse. this village is now known as Mushroom village.
